St. Charles Student Council is comprised of elected representatives and officers from grades 5-8. The officers are elected in late spring to serve during the following school year. Homeroom representatives are elected at the beginning of the school year to represent grades 5-8 and a "buddy" classroom grades K-4. Weekly meetings are held, service projects and school spirit projects are created and directed, and leadership skills are groomed.

7th and 8th grade Catholic students are invited to be altar servers at the 8:15 am weekday Masses attended by the students. Students are trained in the spring of 6th grade. These students are also scheduled for the Sunday parish Masses at St. Charles. Students may also serve funerals, weddings, Stations, Benediction, and other special liturgical celebrations.

VEX Robotics team is open to students in grades 5-8 and meets at least weekly afterschool during the first semester and again in the spring. Engineering, research, and technical skills are learned and utilized as well as leadership and teamwork. Students compete in late fall at a regional competition with the possibility to proceeding to state competition.

Yearbook staff is comprised of interested students from grades 7-8. Students assist with the photography of student activities throughout the year as well as the design and layout of the annual yearbook.

Scouting opportunities are available for girls and boys at all grade levels from Daisy Scouts to Cadets and Tiger Cubs to Boy Scouts.
