Dear Parents and Students - So glad to be back together again! I hope the first three days have been positive for your families! Our students, faculty, and staff have had a fast and positive start to the new school year.  Everyone has been reviewing procedures, becoming familiar with teacher expectations, and just getting used to the demands of the school routine again. By now all are beginning to feel a little more comfortable as we head into the weekend.

Have a little rest, some fun, attend Mass, and return to us on Monday ready for our first full week of school! Thank you for choosing our school for your children! Sincerely - Rob S.

HASA/BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT! WED. AUG. 16th, 7:00pm in CHURCH! ALL PARENTS SHOULD ATTEND!
Our HASA/Back-to-School Night will be held in the Church this year. This is a night for parents. We ask that, if possible, the children not attend, as this is more of an informational format geared towards adults/parents. I realize that leaving the children at home may not be possible for some families, in which case, of course you are welcome to bring the little ones. At 7:00 p.m., all parents are asked to come to the Church where our Pastor, Father Tom Shoemaker and I will welcome you. Our agenda will then move forward with school-related business. When the program is finished, all parents will go to their children's rooms. Junior high parents are invited to stay in the Church for a brief presentation from the junior high teachers.
As parents of students in grades Pre-K, K and 1 have already met their teachers on Monday and attended a recorded virtual meeting, they will not need to visit the classrooms after the program. However, after the program in the Church, our PreK, K, and 1st grade parents are welcome to check out the various groups who have displays in the cafeteria (Scouts, SCRIP, HASA, CardinalFest, Borromeo Bash, Girls on the Run, etc.).  All teachers, grades 2-8, will open their classrooms for parent visitation. We will have three (10 minute) sessions of visitation with a five-minute passing period between the three sessions. Our resource teachers, and those who teach music, art, computers, physical education, and Spanish, will also be available for visits. Mrs. O’Rourke, our librarian, will also be available in the library. Mrs. McGraw, our tech coordinator will be available in her office near the cafeteria. The evening should be over by 8:45 p.m. Please realize you are all members of HASA, so we hope to see you there.
Every year, I am thankful for the extent of good work that our HASA accomplishes. Here is a partial list of the good work in which HASA is involved: *Coordinating Volunteers Each Year *Student & Teacher Recognition & Awards *Spirit Shop *Father Daughter Dance *Mother Son Bowling *Roller Skating Parties *Playground Equipment & Maintenance *Catholic Schools’ Week Activities *Tuition Assistance *Marketing & Enrollment Activities *Turkey Bingo *Student Field Trips *Summer Movies  *And more! Thank you Home And School Association! We are proud of all that you do for us!

After we meet in Church on Wednesday evening, there will be dress down sign-up sheets available in the cafeteria for parents to initialize. If parents attend the meeting, then their children will be allowed to “dress down” on Monday, August 21. Students of grades Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade may also automatically have a dress down day on Monday, August 21st, as their parents already attended orientation on August 7th. I look forward to seeing everyone in Church on Wednesday. -Rob S.
