Dear Parents and Students
Thanks to all for a very nice Back-to-School Night this past Tuesday. We have a strong team of volunteers, teachers, staff, parents, students, priests, and administrators, and I look forward to a strong year and a steadily growing decade! Thank you again for your involvement, family values, faith, and willingness to be involved.
All are welcome to attend Mass on Friday, August 26th, at 8:15 a.m. with Bishop Rhoades, celebrant! We are excited to receive Bishop Rhoades for a school visit on this day. All of our 807 students will be in attendance at Mass, and we look forward to Bishop visiting classrooms after Mass has concluded.  We will have extra chairs set up at Mass, so that all who would like to join us will have a seat. Come and sing and pray with our school community! Our School Staff and Students will put our best foot forward Friday!
In closing, in this first year of Eucharistic Revival in the Church, I would encourage everyone to stop in for five or ten minutes of prayer at our Chapel or Church, or at any other Catholic Chapel or Church near you, taking time to be in the presence of the Eucharist, whether in exposition or in the tabernacle proper, once or twice a month.  I suggest beginning prayer with thoughts of each member of your immediate family and then spiral out to extended family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, parishioners and so on. I recently lost an Aunt, by marriage, Sr. Rita Claire, who kindly prayed for me by name every day. Although I am confident that she is still putting in a good word, it was reassuring to know that someone was praying on my behalf each day. I need all the prayers I can get LOL. Have a nice weekend with your families. Make it to Church. Enjoy some of the better weather of the year. Thank you. Sincerely - Rob S.

Display yard signs and decals and earn your children two dress down days!! I wanted to thank everyone who, over the past 17 years, has taken the opportunity to display a St. Charles Cardinals yard sign and, also to attach a vinyl decal to your automobile(s).  I enjoy seeing the signs and the decals as I am out driving.  Others have also commented on how neat it is to see St. Charles signs and decals everywhere. Good work!  In appreciation of those who have helped spread school spirit with the signs and decals, and, to nudge everyone else to do the same, I would like to give one dress down day to any family who takes a photo of their smiling children standing on their lawn next to their St. Charles Cardinals yard sign.  Just print out a photo and on the back of the photo put a date and the names of the children, and bring it to the office for your dress down day pass to be used on Wed., August 31st. Additionally, if you take a photo of your smiling children standing next to your vehicle with your school decal affixed to it, and also bring in that signed photo to the office, your children will earn another dress down day on Friday, September 9th.  Two pictures of school spirit equals two dress down days. The deadline for pictures to be turned in is Monday, August 29th. If you need a free yard sign or decal, we will have them available to take home at Back-to-School Night on the evening of August 16th, after that night, we will have signs and decals available in the office. Thanks for supporting our school and thank you for showing such strong school spirit.

Cardinal Fest!  St. Charles will host Cardinal Fest, a family festival, this September 9th through 11th! Starting with the junior high dance, an amazing carnival of fun, then ending with our favorite 5K! In an effort to offset some expenses and allow businesses and organizations to gain visibility in front of our parishioners, we have several sponsorship opportunities available throughout the festival weekend. Please email stcharlescardinalfest@gmail.com or visit www.cardinalfest.com for sponsorship levels and information.
If you are unable to support Cardinal Fest financially or through an in-kind donation, we also need volunteers to help with various shifts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We would greatly appreciate any additional help that can be provided! Thank you for your support!
