Dear Parents and Students - Thank you for your flexibility and understanding with all of our delays this week (5) plus our one closing today. We try to keep everyone safe and sane. Not sure how well we’re doing with the latter LOL! I want to share a few current events items as we move forward into the next few exciting weeks! Please take a look & thank you for your children! Sincerely -Rob S.

  • Please pray for the soul of Mrs. Sue Christle who passed away last weekend after battling health issues for the past year. Mrs. Christle served faithfully as a 3rd grade Teacher here at St. Charles from 1992 through her retirement in 2013. She is survived by her husband Tom, also a long-time jr. high Science Teacher here at St. Charles, six children, and fourteen grandchildren. Viewing at Hockmeyer Miller, Monday, January 22 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 6:00-8:00p.m. with rosary at 6:00p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial here at St. Charles on Tuesday, January 23 at 10:30 a.m. with viewing in the Gathering Space at 9:30 a.m.

  • Please keep Griffin O’Keefe, five-month old son of Pam & Joe O’Keefe, in prayer as Griffin has been down at Riley Children’s hospital awaiting a pacemaker to help with heart complications. Thank you for uplifting Griffin and the family at this time.

  • Every Friday at our all-school Mass Mr. Hoersten helps to coordinate Student Council members to disburse baskets for a student collection. A nice portion of the student body, in turn, uses their collection envelopes to record good deeds, offer prayers, and of course put money inside as a tithe. The money collected is put towards local and international Catholic supported charities. Sometimes we accrue 2-3 weeks of collections and send a greater amount to a charity of focus. We also collect charitable items (food, clothing, etc.) as a school at times throughout the year.  We received this note of thanks (we receive many) from the Associated Churches of Fort Wayne and I thought it would be nice to share with you. “Dear Friends, On behalf of the Associated Churches Neighborhood Food Network, I want to thank you for your gift of 856 lbs. of food on 10/02/23.  Your thoughtful gift makes a difference in the lives of families and individuals struggling to provide for basic needs such as food. Last year, more than 938,000 meals were provided to over 62,594 individuals, 35% of which were children. Because of your partnership, we work to ease the burden to provide for basic needs to families within the Fort Wayne and Allen County community. Thanks again for your thoughtful contribution!  Sincerely - Rev. Roger Reece, Executive Pastor

  • I look forward to seeing Science Fair projects later this week! It has been four years since we have had in-person judging and students are excited to present. Science Fair viewing will be open to the public after Masses of Jan. 28 in the Parish Hall!
