What is/are Pueri Cantores and Why are We Dismissing Early Tuesday for Pueri Cantores? - Pueri Cantores is the official student choral organization of the Catholic Church. AFPC organizes Choral Festivals and Masses for parish and school choirs (grades 4-12) in churches around the United States. As a corporate partner of the National Catholic Educational Association, it also provides professional opportunities for music teachers and no cost music education resources for the 6000 Catholic Schools in our nation. https://www.pcchoirs.org/ The Pueri Cantores Indiana regional Mass & choral festival sponsored by the Diocese of Fort Wayne - South Bend is being held this year here at St. Charles Borromeo Church on Tuesday, March 7, at 3:00 pm. Bishop Kevin Rhoades will be the celebrant with other area priests concelebrating. There are approximately 340 singers, grades 4-12, who come from all the parish elementary schools and diocesan high schools. St. Charles has 12 students participating. Students will be arriving around 9:30 am via bus from the South Bend end of the diocese and via car from the schools on our eastern half of the diocese to rehearse throughout the day in preparation for the 3:00 pm Mass with the Bishop. To help accommodate the celebration, we are dismissing early to ensure that all participants have time to rehearse, eat lunch, and welcome arriving guests throughout the afternoon. All are invited to attend this Mass of celebration! School will dismiss at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 7, in order to accommodate parking for all attendees.
