Dear Parents of St. Charles Borromeo School Students -   I hope that you are well.  This past weekend we had a beautiful First Communion celebration as our young people, supported by families, friends, and parishioners filled the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and received the Body and Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ, for the very first time.  We are very proud of our students, and so happy that they can now come to the table and partake of the Lord’s Supper.
The beautiful weekend was followed by a wonderfully moving May Crowning and Living Rosary celebration on Monday afternoon.  The blend of our 8th grade students paired with our second grade students, all resplendent in their best garb, and so reverent and grace-filled, leading the school in honoring our Mother Mary and praising God represented the best of the Catholic educational experience.  I have used the word ‘beautiful’ twice already, but that best describes the May Crowning - beautiful.
The gift that is Jesus: The greatest man in history had no servants, yet they called him ‘Master’. Had no degree, yet they called him ‘Teacher’. He had no medical training, yet they called him ‘Healer’. He had no army, yet kings feared him. He won no military battles, yet he conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they killed him. He was dead, yet he lives today. Amen.
In closing, the recent events surrounding the leaked draft of the Supreme Court’s deliberations regarding an abortion-related case under review has put the possibility of the 1973 Roe vs. Wade decision being overturned front-and-center as a national issue.  Please pray for our Justices that they remain safe during these turbulent times and that they listen for God’s voice as they deliberate on this matter during the weeks ahead. Thank you for allowing your children to attend our St. Charles Borromeo School.  Sincerely - Rob S.
