Dear Parents and Students - Have you ever wondered, “Whatever happened to the money I donated to Borromeo Bash? or that $50 I gave to the Save the Laserdisc Fund? or those Green Stamps I turned in for the Carrier Pigeon Reclamation Project?” Well, I am happy to report that at least the Borromeo Bash money you donated has been held in safe keeping. Over the past four years, various projects we had planned to utilize BB funds to complete were either supplanted by an influx of State and/or Federal funds during the Covid years, or the projects were delayed, as in the school window replacement project. So instead of spending frivolously, the Borromeo Bash Committee held onto the funds until we could properly channel money towards needed projects. Our current BB balance sits at just over $235,000, of which, with additional funds from BB 2024 in February, we hope to put $250,000 towards the school window replacement project, and then turn further attention and proceeds towards school restroom refreshening/renovation. I just wanted to reassure everyone that we are being good stewards of your generosity and that we are committed to helping the school and Parish grow with an eye towards the future.
To further update you as to the plans for window replacements in all classrooms, Fr. Tom has contracted with MARTINRILEY architects ▪ engineers (MRae) to replace all the circa 1970s curtain wall systems with a modern and more energy-efficient wall system. We would like to  increase the amount of vision glass within each classroom and have at least one operable window for egress in each classroom. The preliminary construction budget range, based upon previous proposals, will run from $600,000 - $900,000 for all windows replaced along the main hallway from the office to the end of junior high. The proposed schedule of work and deadlines for the Window Replacement/Façade Update:
Field Work and Data Collection Mid-October 2023
Schematic Design with Owner Early November 2023
90% Review with Owner Early December 2023
Construction Documents 100% Complete Late December 2023
Invitation to Bid Early January 2024
   Pre-Bid Meeting Mid-January 2024
   Bid Opening Late January 2024
Construction Start Beginning Summer Break 2024
Construction Substantially Complete End of Summer Break 2024

In closing, thank you for always supporting the School and Parish! Good luck to all of our student athletes in tournament action this weekend - Cross Country, Football, Volleyball, & Cheer! I know that you have all been working hard this season! Sincerely -Rob S.
